Revs Sign Rondon

A couple of roster moves today as RHP Matthew Grimes had his contract purchased by the Chinese Professional Baseball League (Taiwan) which means Ian Thomas will make tonight’s start, and the Revs have signed infielder Alvaro Rondon.  The 28-year-old Rondon began this season with Sugar Land, where he batted .281 last season with 38 stolen bases (#3 in the league) and a league-leading 13 sac bunts. He was also the Skeeters’ Community Player of the Year last season. He had a 60-steal season in the American Association in 2017 and reached Triple-A in the Diamondbacks farm system. Primarily a middle infielder throughout his career, the switch-hitting Rondon is leading off and playing shortstop tonight as the Revs host the High Point Rockers. More on Rondon in tonight’s game notes: 6-10-19 vs HP
