YORK REVOLUTION RELEASE 10TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON SCHEDULE
#Revs10 begins Thursday, April 21 in New Britain, Connecticut; home opener is Thursday, April 28 vs. Sugar Land

(York, Pa.): The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball has released the 2016 schedule, with Opening Day set for Thursday, April 21. The York Revolution will open their 10th season of play that evening at New Britain Stadium in Connecticut, in the first game in franchise history for a yet-to-be-named new entry into the ALPB. After a seven game road trip to New Britain and Somerset to begin the season, York’s home opener is slated for Thursday, April 28 against the Sugar Land Skeeters.

2016 is the first season the Revolution will open on the road since playing in Sugar Land’s inaugural game in 2012. It will be the fifth time York has opened on the road overall. The opening homestand at Santander Stadium will last eight games, four against the Skeeters and the Bridgeport Bluefish through May 5.

The 2016 schedule returns to a balanced format. Each of the Atlantic League’s eight clubs will play the others 20 times apiece, for a 140-game schedule. Each team will matchup 10 times in the first half and 10 times in the second half, and play one another 10 times at home and on the road, a departure from last season’s unbalanced format.

2016 will also mark the first time the Revolution make three separate flights to Sugar Land; June 10-12, July 8-10 and July 22-24. The 2016 “War of The Roses” series against the Lancaster Barnstormers will begin May 16-19 with four games at Clipper Magazine Stadium; York will not host Lancaster until June 3-5. The remainder of the series is July 1-3 (home), July 28-31 (home), August 19-21 (Lancaster) and September 12-14 (Lancaster).

The Revolution will host New Britain for the first time May 10-12. Other opportunities to see the Atlantic League’s newest member at Santander Stadium are July 15-17 and August 8-11. York’s other trips to New Britain are May 20-22 and August 2-4.

The season’s first half will conclude July 3 against Lancaster. The second half will begin the following day, with a July 4 game at Bridgeport. The Atlantic League All-Star Game & festivities are scheduled for July 11-14, and the hosting city will be announced shortly.

The full 2016 York Revolution schedule is below. Game times will be announced later this year, as the 2016 promotional schedule begins to take shape, which will set a record for number of giveaways for the Revolution’s 10th anniversary season.
