Infielder Bryan Pounds added, camp roster now at 31 players
As the Revolution hit the field for their first full-team workout, infielder Bryan Pounds has been signed, growing the preseason roster to 31 players. Per Atlantic League rules, teams are permitted to carry 27 active players until June 1, when rosters must be cut to 25 for the remainder of the season. York currently has 16 pitchers, four catchers and 11 position players under contract.
Pounds, entering his eighth professional season out of the University of Houston, was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 34th round of the 2008 draft. He spent parts of three seasons at Double-A Erie in that system (2010-2012), and parts of two seasons at Triple-A Toledo (2011-2012). Pounds hit 16 home runs with 70 RBI in 131 games with Camden last season, each of which were career highs. He batted .283 for the Riversharks in his first Atlantic League season. Pounds has spent the majority of his career at third base.
