VIDEO: Brian Jeroloman, brother of former Revolution shortstop, involved in frightening collision
The video below has been making the rounds online, and there is a York Revolution connection. (Click either the link or the image to play.)
Brian Jeroloman is a catcher in the Washington Nationals organization, and the younger brother of former Revolution shortstop Chuck Jeroloman (2010). Brian is currently at Double-A Harrisburg, and they opened the Eastern League playoffs 9/4 with Game 1 of their division series at Erie.
Erie’s Brandon Douglas attempts to score on this fielder’s choice, leading to one of the worst collisions at home plate you’ll ever see. Jeroloman was carted off the field sitting up and conscious. I don’t want to speculate on his condition, but he did have to spend the night at the hospital, where he still was this morning. You’d have to assume there was at least a concussion, and there appeared to be a pretty serious laceration on Jeroloman’s chin from the footage. As the video will show, Douglas was quite shaken up as well.
Incidentally, Harrisburg won the game 5-4. They’ll host games 3-5 if necessary at home Friday through Sunday.
