After being on the Revolution Inactive List since June 20, left-handed reliever Kris Regas has officially been released by the team. Unfortunately, it’s the second tough release of a fan favorite this month, after York had to let franchise all-time hits leader James Shanks go on July 7.
Regas has been with the Revolution since the tail end of the 2011 championship season, aside from a stint in the Mexican League after spring training last season, before he returned to York. In 2012 he apperaed in 44 games for the Revs, posting a 2.79 ERA with a 3-2 record. In 42 innings he struck out 42 batters, walking just 18. This season, Regas had a 8.21 ERA in 10 games and 23 innings, which included four starts.
