Wilson Batista added to All-Star Game roster
Revolution infielder Wilson Batista, a.k.a. “Willie Bats” has been added late to the Freedom Division All-Star roster. His selection makes six Revs participating in Wednesday’s game at Southern Maryland, joining Chris Cody, Salvador Paniagua, Eric Patterson, Andres Perez and Michael Wuertz.
Batista has turned into an every day player for York, and has seen time at second, third and short in a super-utility role. At the time of his selection he is sporting a .283 average with three home runs and 32 RBI. This is Batista’s first Atlantic League All-Star Game selection, as he’s playing in the ALPB for the first time since 2009 when he was with Bridgeport.
Somehow, we’re lucky enough to have a picture of him clapping in our files.
