Green is latest to depart for Mexico
Just two days after losing Brian Burgamy to Campeche of the Mexican League, starting pitcher Nick Green has also left the Revolution after his contract was purchased by the Yucatan Lions.
Green, in his first year with the Revolution, went 3-0 in nine starts with the team. He posted a 3.71 ERA in 53.1 innings pitched, and struck out 34 in that time.
Brett Tomko, who had been nursing tightness in his right shoulder, is back healthy and ready to come off the inactive list to take Green’s spot on the active roster, which puts York back at 25. However, the team is back in the market for another starting pitcher with the loss. Look for the bullpen tandem of Pedro Liriano & Kris Regas to step back into Green’s vacant spot in the rotation until another starter is added. Those two have assumed that role already this season.
