Burgamy heads south of the border

Burgamy, Brian 8

The Revolution have lost their first player to the Mexican League this season.  The Campeche Pirates have purchased the contract of 1B/OF Brian Burgamy.

Burgamy leads the Revolution in hitting at the time of his departure at .345.  He also leads the club in home runs with nine, and is second in RBI with 35, trailing only Andy Marte.  In the Atlantic League rankings, Burgamy is currently second in hitting, tied for 3rd in homers and fourth in RBI.

It’s a blow, no doubt.  But great hitters like Burgamy can make a nice salary in Mexico; the league values home runs more than any other league.  In a corresponding move, James Shanks was added back to the active roster after briefly going inactive to have his knee drained.  He’s back healthy.

How much do atlantic league teams get when they sell the contracts of players to MLB teams or International. Is it a certain amount or different amounts if so what is the average?
