June alumni update, Rice on pace for MLB record for lefty appearances

Check out the links below to see how several former Revolution players are faring with their new organizations.  But first…more Scott Rice!

We blogged previously about Rice leading Major League Baseball in appearances out of the Mets bullpen, and him being on pace for a Mets franchise record.  It gets better…Rice is also on pace for the most appearances by a lefty EVER in MLB, as well as on pace for the second-most MLB appearances period in one season.  Not bad for a rookie…even if it is a 31-year-old rookie in his 15th season.  That link is courtesy of Aaron Gleeman over at NBC Sports Hardball Talk.

And Rice made his MLB debut at Citi Field on Opening Day and earned winning decisions at both Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium this season.  Not too shabby for your first year in The Show.
