From Paul Braverman & Darrell Henry: No, YOU'RE a homer.

Welcome to the show

On behalf of Darrell Henry and the rest of the York Revolution Front Office, welcome to “Blog To Blog Champs.”  We started this for a few reasons.  Basically, Darrell and I have a lot of thoughts that are too short for a web feature, but too long for facebook and twitter, and/or things on our mind that aren’t necessarily “news.”  You’ll see what we mean once we get it going.  This will be a great place for inside information on the Revolution, and a place for the Revolution community to speculate and chat in one single place without missing anything on facebook or twitter.  By all means, still stay keyed into the Revs facebook and twitter accounts, as that’s the place we’ll always post updates on what we’re up to and news as it first breaks.

First off, here are some of the things you can expect to find here:

  • News/specularion about player movement before it hits YorkRevolution.com
  • Side stories that aren’t in the game recaps
  • A daily round-up of news links during the season
  • Injury updates
  • Funny stories from Darrell as he travels with the team
  • Player quirks and superstitions
  • Noteworthy things any of our players might tweet
  • Updates on ticket sales, new merchandise or contests
  • Wacky things that happen around our office
  • Where DownTown or Revolution players might be popping up next in the community
  • Scuttlebutt from around the Atlantic League or minor league baseball in general, things we’re hearing
  • And more!  (You never know)

Anyway, you get the idea.  And the comments are on, and we encourage anyone and everyone to comment as much as possible.  There are some groundrules however:

1. Please don’t invoke the First Amendment if we delete a comment that is inflammatory, vulgar or deemed unacceptable in any way.  We’re a family show.  The First Amendment allows you to create your own blog to say whatever you want, not to sully ours.

2.  If the comments spiral out of control to the point where they are constantly over the line, commenting will be shut down for good, on every post.  Ideally we want a lot of comments, to turn this into a place where Revolution fans can always go to interact, without having to be on facebook or twitter at the exact time a topic is being discussed.  But keep following us there as well, and you won’t miss out on anything about YOUR team!

3. Just as questionable content and language will not be tolerated in the comments, attacking each other will not be tolerated either.  By all means disagree with one another and debate.  That’s fun.  But keep the name-calling and insults out of it, unless it’s directed at a Lancaster fan.  (Not really.)  (Actually, that’s ok. ) (No really, be nice to everyone.)  We’re all Revolution fans, so love one another.

One more thing about comments, before your comment goes live, I get an e-mail asking me if the comment is approved or not.  So if it’s the middle of the night and I’m asleep, or if I’m away from my computer, or it’s the weekend or something and I’m not in the office, don’t submit your comment over and over.  I have it, I just need to get to a computer to make it live.  Be patient!

That’s it!  Stay tuned as we ramp this thing up very shortly.  Our goal is to post at least three to four times a week during the offseason, and at least once a day, often more during the season.  Feel free to leave suggestions for us in the comments section.

GO REVS!  (Three-peat?)

-Paul Braverman
